Discussion Groups

Need NOT Greed discussion groups are to give people an opportunity to talk about working cash-in-hand, create understanding as to why it is currently the only option when struggling with poverty and trapped on benefits or unable to access formal employment.

The purpose of the discussion groups is to share ideas and involve people working cash-in-hand in the decision making process - to be part of the creation of a system that is modern and flexible to support people and enable them to move forward, not trap them in poverty.  If you, your local community, neighbours or friends would like to attend a meeting or start one up in your local area please do get in touch and we can make this happen.

We have a lot of support to offer to people involved in the discussion groups, whether it is benefit advice, media training or a better understansding of how Westminster works and how best to influence it, for example we have a lot of purrport from Parliamentary Outreach:

"Parliamentary outreach is a service designed to spread awareness of the work and processes of the institution of Parliament, both Commons and Lords. It works mainly with third sector organisations who wish to increase levels of civic participation. The service offers tailored information sessions on how Parliament works and is similar to our education outreach team, although it works with adults and those not within the formal education system. These might be a general intro to Parliament and how to engage with it, or more specific sessions on submitting evidence to Select Committees or info on the process of a Bill becoming law."
